The Shri Kedarnath Jyotirlinga Temple is one of the holiest Hindu shrines, committed to Lord Shiva and positioned at an altitude of 3,583 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas. The temple is section of the Chota Char Dham circuit and is the best possible of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

- Opening Dates: The temple is scheduled to open on April 22, 2026.
- Closing Date: It usually closes around October 23, 2026 (Bhai Dooj).

Getting There
The journey typically starts from Rishikesh or Haridwar.
- Road to Sonprayag: A drive of approximately 210 km (8–10 hours) through scenic towns like Devprayag and Rudraprayag.
- Base Camp: From Sonprayag, local shuttles take you to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek.
- The Trek: A steep 16–18 km uphill climb. Fit hikers take 6–8 hours. Alternatives include ponies, palanquins (dandi), or helicopter services from Phata, Guptkashi, or Sirsi.
